Tim Holtz Embossing Folders

For my Creative Team reveal at A Cherry On Top I got to play with some amazing Tim Holtz Embossing folders. This was my first time and now I'm hooked! Need to go shopping for my embossing folders. ;)

One technique that I love to play around with is embossing. For my reveal I didn't want to just emboss, I wanted to go an extra step with my embossing. First I started with some awesome Tim Holtz Texture Fades (embossing folders) and then I added some ink, played with some Perfect Pearls Mists and Glimmer Mists, and even did a little sanding. If you have not yet tried embossing folders then you need to. It is so much fun and I love the texture it brings to your projects. August 16, 2011 is back to school day for my kids. I can not believe that I have a 4th grader and a freshman now. They are growing up too fast! So here are some photos showing off my beautiful kids. They are rocking the new clothes, new shoes and of course new backpacks. LOL!

Then I caught Erik in a huge yawn. LOL!

Which of course made Marissa yawn. LMAO! I love these two! ;)

We R Memory Keepers Friends Furever

On May 27, 2010 we adopted this cute little dog, we named her Gracie. When the We R Memory Keepers Friends Furever line hit the ACOT shop I knew it was the perfect line to scrap our pictures of Gracie. This line has awesome pattern papers. They are all double sided except the Collars paper and Nine Lives paper, which are both glitter accented. Besides having awesome papers this line has die cut tags, chipboard tags, clear stamps, cardstock stickers, fabric brads, chipboard words, metal charms, a 4x6 pad, a 6x6 pad, glitter brads, twill ribbon, textured cardstock, and even a Page Kit. This line has it all!! A must have for all of you pet lovers out there.

I have been holding on to a secret for over a year...... now I can not only tell you but I can show you my secret! I have been published in the new Memory Makers book called The Big Book Of Scrapbook Pages! I have three layouts in this book and I am so excited!!!! My first layout, He Loves To Play is on page 90. My second layout, The Costume is on page 128. And my third layout, Loving Baby Ty is on page 241. This is really a great book and there are so many beautiful layouts in this book.

This is a layout I created using the song Mine by Taylor Swift for inspiration. My layout title is of course the song title and then I included some of the song lyrics for my journaling. I used the Basic Grey Origins line on this layout, totally love the Origins line! I have a ton of Prima flowers so it took me awhile to go through them to pick out just the right ones but I think these flowers work perfectly. And I've had this beautiful Prima bling ever since it first hit the stores. I loved it so much that I had to display it on my pegboard for awhile before I used it. LOL! Here is my card challenge: Create a homemade flower embellishment to use on your card this month. Any theme is fine as long as you have at least one flower embellishment that you have made on it.
I created my flower by spraying a chipboard flower shaped with Glimmer Mist Chalkboard and then added buttons on it.

Favorite Photo of January

Okay I couldn't pick until one favorite photo so how about my favorite photo "day". LOL! I took these photos of my kids on January 1st. The night before we got our first "real" snow and my kids wanted to play in it. Here's is my favorite photo of the day. This photo is my screen saver right now.

They started off with a snowball fight. I love the look in Erik's eyes as he takes aim at his big sister. LOL!

Next they moved on to tackling each other. Here Marissa was taking down Erik.

Then they both went down! LOL!

And this last photo is Marissa after Erik tackled her. She even had snow down her back.

Favorite Layout

While enjoying my coffee this morning I started looking at all the layouts I have on my computer and one jumped out at me. Right now this is my favorite layout. I totally love the large black & white photo of my beautiful kids together, which I think looks awesome with the yellow background paper. And for me yellow is not a color that I scrapbook with very often. I also love the line of papers and embellishments that I used for this layout, it's the Basic Grey Origins line. So this morning I thought I would share with you my favorite layout. :)

My New SCRAPBOOK ROOM!!!!

Back in November my hubby and I bought our first home and I have been very busy with packing, unpacking, and painting! So welcome to my new bigger better scrapbook room! Here is the hallway leading in from the back door. I still have a couple of things that I want to do like: finish painting the trim around the hallway doors, paint the ceiling fan, put up ceiling trim, and I have a cool idea for the closet doors.

This room used to be a pale pink, which I did not like so I painted it a rich toffee color and then my hubby put in new carpet for me.

Here is my desk!

My new black book cases for my paper, cardstock, and embellishments. The little black desk that the TV sits on used to be purple and black. Some black paint and new knobs and this desk looks brand new!

Here's my awesome find that I got for only $25. It is full of embellishments. I still need to label the drawers.

And my pegboard. I painted it the toffee wall color and then painted the trim black. I love how it turned out!

For my November CT Reveal at A Cherry On Top I was so excited that I got to work with the Little Yellow Bicycle Christmas Delight line! This line is amazing!!!! If you are anything like me then you will understand when I say I have the hardest time with scrapbooking my Christmas photos. But........ with the amazing LYB Christmas Delight line and some help with some awesome PageMaps sketches I finished all five of these layouts in less then two days! Altered Letter A

Well I had altered letters for both of my kids so now it's time for an altered letter A for my scrapbook room. Since I have my scrapbook room in animal prints I went with a zebra print paper from Reminisce. This paper is awesome, it's flocked!!! Too cool. I also used some Prima flowers, chipboard Thickers letters, and chipboard flourish from Pebbles. I really love how it turned out. Altered Letter E

I've had this letter E forever so I finally decided to do something with it. Of course E stands for my son, Erik and Erik is a big time camo fan. So I used pattern papers from the Bo Bunny Roughin' It line with the camo pattern as the main paper. I Glimmer Misted a couple Tim Holtz grungeboard skulls and I think they turned out amazing. I really love the way everything came together and more important.....my son thinks it's awesome!

Altered Letter M

Here's an altered letter M that I made for my daughter's room. She picked out all the paint, paper, and colors. I had fun Glimmer Misted the chipboard flower and then I added some Stickles around the edge of it. I totally love how it turned out and best of all so does she! Basic Grey Marrakech

Morning everyone. Is anyone else having trouble with losing an hour because of daylight saving time? LOL! Lucky for me my kids are on spring break this week so it's alittle easier to get used to.
Here is a layout that I created using papers from the Basic Grey Marrakech line. I really love the colors of this line, so rich and pretty. I took this photo of my kids on Valentine's Day 2008. Two years ago and I'm just now scrapping it. LOL! I loved how I caught them laughing and playing around so I decided to not even make this layout about Valentine's Day and I love how it turned out. Basic Grey Lime Rickey Card

The Lime Rickey line is one of my favorite Basic Grey lines. I love all the bright colors and patterns, and the fun embellishments. For this card I picked three different pattern papers and inked all the edges after cutting the right sizes. For my sentiment I used the Lime Rickey chipboard letters and for the little hearts I traced them from the hearts that come with the chipboard letters. The chipboard square is from Bazzill, I simply sprayed it with Glimmer Mist Wild Currant. Think the color is perfect with this line. This is just a fun quick bookmark that I made for my dad. I started with the My Mind's Eye Dreamy 2 Brilliant line and then I added some Maya Road chipboard gears that I inked with Color Box. I outlined the Simply Luxe letter stickers, added my eyelet and the fibers. Fun, simple, quick and it looks great!

Basic Grey Origins

It's time for my February CT Reveal at A Cherry On Top. I have to admit that I have a really hard time scrapbooking with the color yellow. So why did I pick a line for my CT reveal that has lots of yellow in it? Because it's good to face your fears and challenge yourself. But with the Basic Grey Origins line everything came together so easily for me even when I used yellow as the main color. I finished all six of my reveal layouts in just a couple of days! After placing my CT order I immediately went through my photos pulling out ones that I thought would go with the Origins line. I had enough photos picked out for more then 20 layouts! LOL!....... I took these pictures of my son, Erik this past summer. It was his first time playing catcher and he loved it!! I was totally scared when I first saw Erik heading out to home plate because he looked so small in all of that padding. LOL! But he did a great job. I loved the photo on the left so much that I had to blow it up to a 8x12 and then on the right side I used 3 smaller photos and a journaling card. I haven't made a two page layout in awhile. KaiserCraft Jade's Garden

For my design team at Scrapadilly I got to work with the KaiserCraft Jade's Garden paper line. When I first show this line in the shop I thought it would be great for Fall layouts but after I got the Jade's Garden papers in the mail I decided to do something different with them. Don't get me wrong these papers would still be awesome with Fall photos but I wanted so see how they would work with some heritage photos. Guess what? They are perfect for heritage photos too! At least I think they are. LOL!

For these flowers I started with some plain Prima E Line brown flowers and layered two together. Then I outlined the edges with copper colored Stickles. After the Stickles dried I added a Prima flower center.

To make this flower I cut out 4 different sized circles from the KaiserCraft papers. Then I crunched them up in my hands and then smoothed them out again. Next I sprayed them with the Black Gold Glimmer Mist. After they dried I put all the layers together and attached them to my layout with a brad.

Bo Bunny Tis The Season

I totally love the new Christmas line from Bo Bunny called Tis The Season. The colors and patterns are perfect! I started with the Tis The Season Chorus Die Cut paper as my background. Next I used a couple of the other pattern papers from this same line and a border sticker. Added my title letters, pearls for accents and fixed up a chipboard snowflake. As you can see I added some pretty pearls from Zva Creative to accent the snowflakes on my background paper.

For my snowflake I started with a chipboard snowflake from Bazzill and painted it with white acrylic paint. After the paint dried I used some Baby Blue Stickles and spread it around with my finger. Then after the Stickles dried I used glue dots to attach to my layout and added a pearl from Zva Creative to the center.

I simply LOVE KaiserCraft Pearls!!! They are so fun to use and there are so many colors to choose from. If you have not tried the KaiserCraft Pearls then you need to! For my layout I used the chocolate, copper and mango pearls.

KI Memories Flourish

KI Memories is a company know for it's bright colors and bold patterns. At least that's what I always think of when I think of KI Memories. I fell in love with their new line called Flourish. I am normally more drawn to boy lines then the flowery girls lines. I think that is because I know I have more photos of my son, Erik then of my daughter Marissa. This is because she doesn't always let me take her picture. But anyway back to this awesome new line! The Flourish line is gorgeous!! Awesome Blossoms

Check out these fantastic Awesome Blossoms that I got to work with for my design team at Scrapadilly! These flowers really are awesome! On my layout and card I used both the Evening Garden and the Pacific Bay Awesome Blossoms.
Here's alittle bit about Awesome Blossoms: Awesome Blossoms by BonBon are hand made tree-free paper flowers made from the bark of the mulberry tree. Once a year the bark peels from the tree and is then processed by hand into paper. Unlike conventional paper the tree does not have to be cut down and it regenerates another layer of bark within 12 months, making it a renewable natural resource that does not deplete the environment. This natural paper takes less water to manufacture, uses no chlorine, and is naturally acid and lignin free.

For my September CT Reveal at A Cherry On Top I worked with two different new Bo Bunny lines. One was Boo Crew (which I posted a couple of days ago) and the other line was Flutter Butter. Flutter Butter is such a soft pretty line. I love the colors and all the butterflies, flowers and swirls. I created four different layouts with this line. I was able to not only do two layouts about my daughter but I did two layouts about my son too. I love when a line is so versatile!

I have to say that I LOVE working with acrylic albums! Love them! They are so much fun to do! So I decided to base my CT Reveal at A Cherry On Top on acrylic albums. Here is the first of my two acrylic albums that I did for my reveal. This is the Clear My Word Casacade album from Bo Bunny!

Best Creation Reveal - part 1

For my July Creative Team Reveal at ACOT I worked with two different new lines from Best Creation. I got to play with the Play Ball line and the Happy Fourth Day line! Today I am going to show you the four layouts I did with the Play Ball line and tomorrow I will post my layouts that I created with the Happy Fourth Day line, so be sure to check back.

I trully loved the Play Ball line, it was perfect for my son's last year t-ball pictures. An added bonus was the colors matched my his team colors perfectly.
